Collectors receive banned Maori issue
A number of New Zealand Post customers have reported that they have received the controversial Maori stamps which were withdrawn five days before they were due to be issued.
Richard Maclean, spokesman for New Zealand Post, admits that whilst the postal administration did everything they could to ensure all orders for the stamps were cancelled, ‘human error’ had meant that around 500 still went out.
Ivor Masters, stamps and collectibles general manager for New Zealand Post, has urged all collectors to return the stamps so they can be destroyed.
